Quick and Simple...Transform areas of your home.

Hey everyone. It´s time to tackle some new areas of your home. I am all up for quick and simple ways to transform certain corners of your home. You don´t need to do much and those corners which you don´t pay much attention too become very organized, accessible, and why not say it…cute. And I have good news, you can do one area in half an hour, that´s all it takes.

Create a Homework Center- If you have kids they probably have homework to tackle, projects to finish, or study for tests. It is very important that they have a quiet and comfortable place to get things done. Kid´s are easily distracted sometimes so you want to have a desigated space for them with all the tools they need, so they won´t have to be on an adventurous expedition around your home looking for that red crayon they so desperately need. Here are a few things you will need to have

-       Desk and chair

-       Lamp

-       Computer and printer

-       Calculator

-       Ruler

-       Hanging calendar

-       Crafting supplies

-       School supplies (highlighters, pens, pencils, lined paper, markers, colored pencils, crayons, glue, siccors)

Once you have all of your supplies you want to place the desk against a wall or window, make sure you have good lighting and you are far away from a television. You want to make sure that where you place the desk, you have an outlet close with enough sockets to connect the computer, printer, and lamp. I highly recommend using cubbies, paper trays,  drawer separators, pencils holders, etc, to keep everything and place, and make sure your kiddo places things where they belong.

Another great idea, is to place this area close to the kitchen. This way you can keep an eye on their process, as you are making dinner. But make sure the kitchen is not a place where they will be distracted.

Create a Home Office Coffee Station

This is an awesome idea if you work from home or if you are a coffee lover. If you work from home you probably spend a lot of time in your office and grabbing a cup of coffee often, so having a coffee station makes sense because it will bring joy into your life, joy I tell you. Start off with a cute cart, it can ve a vintage one or brand new one, or start off with a shelf or tray. Here are the things you will need.

-towels or cloth for spills

-coffee maker (which everone you have)

-wooden sticks or small spoons

-sugar, creamer, or a small cup for milk

-flavored syrups

-coffee pods

-coffee mugs or disposable cups

-water bottles, juice, tea, or other alternatives

I just know you saw this list and you immediately want to go make yourself a darn good cup of coffee. This is it! This is all you need to make that cute coffee corner in your house.

 Rollin´

A few of us don´t have an office space at home, but that doesn´t mean we don´t have important papers that need to be filed. Good news, you don´t need to have a whole office space, there are  very cute rolling storage units, and ones that look like a very cute coffee table. You can file your important documents like birth certificates, insurance, tax files, etc, and in the top drawer you can always store office supplies, like tape, stapler, pen, paper, etc. I left a few you can take a look at.

Quickie Cleanup

Hate to break it to you, but there is no such thing as organizing once and completely forgetting about that area. I have mentioned it before, every area needs maintenance. It´s the only way you won´t have to start from scratch. What you also need to do is to tidy up, every night. Our kids need to know that cleaning up is not a chore, it´s part of the playing process. You can put songs on while they store their things, or if they are watching a show, they can do it while the commercials are one. They won´t even notice they are cleaning up. They will soon understand that if they want to find and use their toy again they need to place it where it belongs. This goes for adults also, if you want to find your car keys every morning and not find yourself scrambling all over your house, you need to place it where it BELONGS.

What do you think? Easy, right? Get to it!Whatever area you try out first, trust me, you'll love it. Have fun organizing!

xoxo
