Use Marie Kondos Organizational Method with your kids room

Organizing your kids room can sometime be a challenge, but there is no space that can not be organized and kept that way. It is very important to involve them in the storing of everything that goes in their room, wether it be clothes, toys, school work, etc. By involving them, you also hold them responsible and they will also be interested in keeping their room nice and neat. There are many methods you can use , such as the docking system with stickers, the chore calendar, the reward system, in order to keep them engaged in their organized clutter-free room. Here are a few ideas to keep in mind when you want to organize this area of the house.

1.    It might not be a bad idea at all to get an early start, it even might be great to start early. Kids as little as 3 can understand that everything has a place to be stored, and it should be placed there after they use it every time. Believe it or not it becomes a habit, even for the little kiddos.

2.    A good idea is to start with the clothes. Marie Kondo suggests you put everything in the center and decide whether it sparks joy. Your options are to toss it or donate it. This may seem like the hardest step, but it feels great once your done.

3.    Another thing you have to consider is what your plan for storing all the toys. Remember there is no right amount of toys, all kids are different, but do keep in mind they have to be stored in a place that is accessible to your kids, so they can place it where they belong. A good idea is for your child and yourself should decide what part of the house they are going to be responsible for maintaining clean and organized.

4.    Kondo explains its ok to throw away artwork. The ones that are not your kids favorite should be given thanks for the joy it brought your family, for the time it was there, and then toss it. Good news is you can still stay with a few and best away of appreciating their artwork is by displaying it at home. Find that special place at home!
