Getting the guest room ready!
Every now and then we have that special guest staying at our house. Making them feel comfortable and welcomed is very important. It would be great if they felt better than at their own home and wanting to return to yours!! There are a few things that shouldn’t be missing and others that are an extra and gives it your personal wow factor. So here are a few ideas you can try for your next visit!
- Basic of baskets: have a basket with all the essentials like toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, q-tips, shampoo,
- Vacant drawers: make sure you have made some space for their clothes and belongings. A few drawers and some hanging space should do the trick.
- Air freshener: have some kind of air freshner, whether it be spray or plug in, or maybe try a scented candle to give that extra touch. Highly recommend a Verbena candle from L’Occitane or a Lavender candle never fails.
- Fan: Don't know the preferences of your guest for the weather, so instead of guessing, just have a fan available at their room, in case they need it.
- Extra toilet paper and a plunger: Makeextra toilet paper available to them throughout their whole stay and leave a plunger in a visible spot for them. Don’t make them ask you for one, not fun. No guest ever wants to let you know they need a plunger
- Spare key: avoid having your guest ask your for a spare key, instead leave on in their room, or mention where you left one or them, so they don’t feel they have to rely on your schedule.
- Luggage rack: Make a luggage rack available or some kind of furniture where they can place their luggage in order for them to unpack and pack comfortably.
- Carafe of water and glass:Your guest might arrive thirsty or need water during the night, so make sure they have a clean glass and water or a water bottle with glass, and remember to keep it stocked each day.
- Wi-fi password: Have a notecard made, or post-it with the Wi-fi, that way they won’t have to ask you for it in case they need to put it in various devices. Make this information handy for them.
For those of you wanting to go the extra mile, try these pointers.
